Itinerary
Day 1:
Depart Melbourne at 0900 and travel along the Great Ocean Road through the coastal resort towns of Lorne then Apollo Bay where a lunch stop is made (own expense). Travel inland through the Otways temperate rainforest then along the Shipwreck Coast stopping to view the 12 Apostles, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. Overnight accommodation with dinner is at Shearwater House B&B in Port Fairy. (D)
Day 2:
After breakfast travel to the Grampians National Park for bush walking, scenic lookouts, Aboriginal culture, wildflowers and the opportunity to view kangaroos and koalas in the wild. A lunch stop will be made at Halls Gap (own expense). After lunch, continue across the Western Plains to Coonawarra wine growing district in South Australia for overnight accommodation. (B)
Day 3:
After breakfast travel to the quaint lobster fishing village of Robe then continue to Coorong National Park, an area teeming with birdlife, where a stop is made for lunch (own expense). Cross the Murray River by ferry at Wellington where the river enters Lake Alexandrina, then continue through the Adelaide Hills into Adelaide arriving approximately 1700 hours. (B)
Operates in reverse daily.
